Fisheries Management Lab
Welcome to the Fisheries Management Lab. We work together with First Nations, governments and non-governmental organizations to help translate data into decision-relevant information. Please explore our site to find out more about our work.
Values and Diversity
We recognize that the ongoing relevance of our field depends on our ability to answer socially relevant questions and incorporate equity, diversity, and inclusion in our work. See our values and EDI statement to learn more. If you are interested in joining us, please see our prospective students page.

In the fisheries management group, we value diverse perspectives and lived experiences, and we recognize how they contribute to imagining solutions to resource problems. We strive to create a supportive environment for our members with plenty of opportunities for skill sharing and mentorship. We support one another by focusing on solutions over problems, and working to overcome our shared challenges, both personal and professional. Our values build upon those of our home University; please see SFU’s EDI commitments.

We recognize the unceded traditional territories of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Səl̓ílwətaɬ (Tsleil- Waututh), Katzie, and Kwikwetlem Nations, on which Simon Fraser University's three campuses stand. We aspire to take action on reconciliation through dialogue, collaborative research, and decolonizing practices. Equity, diversity, and inclusion are essential to SFU’s excellence as an engaged university. SFU pledges to foster a culture of inclusion and mutual respect and to celebrate diversity among faculty and students. See more about SFU’s EDI commitments.
